Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Qube Industries LLC ("we," "us") for the use of Penchant ("the app"). By creating an account you agree to them.

The service

Penchant is a daily writing-practice tool: a prompt, a timer, and a private notebook that stores what you write. It is a creative practice aid, not professional advice.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Use a valid email so we can reach you about your account.

Your content is yours

You own everything you write. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service — to store your writing, display it back to you, and, when you explicitly use the Coach, process the specific text you submit to generate questions. We never claim ownership of your work, never sell it, and never use it to train AI models.

The Coach

The optional Coach returns reflective questions, not advice, edits, or guarantees. It is a prompt to think, nothing more. AI output can be imperfect; use your own judgment.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, infringe others' rights, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or abuse the prompt-suggestion feature. We may suspend accounts that do.

Availability

We aim to keep the app working and your writing safe, but the service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Qube Industries LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data beyond what the law requires; your export option exists so you always hold your own copy.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. The effective date above shows the latest version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
